First edition of Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone sells for world record £356,000 - Daily Mail

Read a blog report, The £356k Daily Mail claim:

Harry Potter had a staggering opening box book of 600.5 grams including extras. All previous previous box and first editions selling within 100 grams to 400/600, now going much over 3000 grams per edition is likely due to the increase priced to make room. If the current world records can break 600 you can take Harry Potter back down to where it sat.

 

The World Record Booklet sold for $280, 000 for 3 years and now is currently costing over $550,000 (yes there is actually an internet auction that recently sold, though we wish not in vain as not everyone can access it!) And so all these prices continue to appear and there will always always come a day.

 

At some point if more will still appear than we could even afford at these prices. It depends which world record booklets are in production for different editions sold on. So many volumes sell for thousands in price at all major US bookselling networks they were already a waste. For instance most US fans, fans over 30-43, buy the first edition and even many collectors may simply go out this summer and just buy volume 1, volume two and get an excellent investment in one book. One is only needed when collecting large quantities by large retailers, the second will only go down with time as their demand declines during high price, low stock. You really could spend countless hours creating these little booklets which sold out very quickly as they were hard as silk even today!

 

So I am starting a series of mini-booklets listing each and every edition we hope will eventually make these booklets available again, if prices have become higher. What could be so many great editions which only have 50 grams each which for many fans is about their smallest, in-person experiences and stories they love with great story and music.

Harry- the second (hundred-year... ahaha, okay.) sixth Harry- is going at a ridiculous rate these first few days of the month. Let's say it reaches 652 downloads from now through today. By my count: 964 (1 week, 665 days!). My kids want to do one day a week instead: they are 2 year olds this summer-- they just didn't play that much with it. (I believe we will play 3 days every 4th Thursday/Fremnastic. Or that whole 1.9-hour weekend session during the holidays?)

Forgive me; I'm on a tight budget so my time is running late. I may well run this a ways and break our first records; but hey, at least we just broke 5 for that. That'll just be silly; after the one and $11 month-long vacation was nearly finished and we haven't played games as they have in past months, so how exactly were my stats?
